  12. As far as I'm aware it is impossible to read Amiga disks on a PC short of
  13. implementing extra additional hardware.  Previous articles I've read on
  14. amiga newsgroups have led me to believe this to be the case.

  16. However, some PC tecchies at work keep arguing with me saying that the
  17. drive electronics are in principle the same and that given correctly
  18. written software there would be no trouble reading or formatting an Amiga
  19. disk on a PC. I argue that the problem is with the PC floppy controller
  20. not the drive, but usually to no avail....they simply dismiss me as wrong.

  22. I am sure I'm right, but I want a more technical explanation by somebody
  23. that knows a bit more about it than me.  I would be very grateful if
  24. someone could explain in great detail why it is impossible with just
  25. software to read or format Amiga disks on a PC.  I do not get this
  26. newsgroup anymore and would be very grateful if someone could e-mail me a
  27. relevent relpy so that I can shove it under their noses at work. :)
